Sending limits on Tuco AI: what they are and why they exist

Apple actively monitors iMessage activity for spam patterns. Accounts that exceed safe thresholds get banned, usually permanently, and there's no reliable appeal process. To keep your lines healthy, Tuco enforces hard limits on every account.

Limits at a glance

Limit

Per line, per day

What happens if exceeded

New conversations (first-time contacts)

50 max — not supported for cold outreach

~100% ban rate from Apple

Total outgoing (replies + follow-ups)

150

Line at risk, Tuco throttles

Incoming messages

500 (recommended)

Line health degrades

Spam complaints

~10 total is enough

Apple ID banned

What counts as a "new contact"?

A new contact is anyone your line has never messaged before. The first time you send a message to a phone number with no existing conversation on your line, that's a new conversation.

Scenario

New contact?

A lead fills your form, you text them for the first time

✅ Yes

A customer you texted last week replies, you respond

❌ No

You follow up with someone you messaged yesterday

❌ No

You import 200 numbers and message them all

✅ Yes — 200 new contacts, instant ban territory

Apple treats a high volume of first-time messages as the strongest spam signal there is. Replies and follow-ups to existing conversations are far safer.

New conversation limits

Lines that start more than 50 new conversations per day get banned at a rate of essentially 100%, so we don't allow it at any volume. Tuco does not support cold outreach. Every contact you message must have explicitly opted in to receive texts from you.

Spam complaints

Even a small number of spam reports can take down a line. As few as 10 complaints can get an Apple ID banned. This is the main reason we only allow messaging opt-ins. If someone reports your number, the risk applies to the entire line, not just that conversation.

Daily limits per line

Incoming messages: up to 500 per line per day (recommended limit).

Total outgoing messages, including replies and follow-ups: 150 per line per day.

You can reach out to support to increase these numbers, but you'd be responsible for keeping the line healthy.

If you're regularly approaching these limits, the right move is to add more lines rather than push a single line harder.
Reach out and we'll help you scale your setup safely.

Quick summary
Opt-ins only. No cold outreach.
A new contact is anyone your line hasn't messaged before.
Stay well under 50 of those per day, keep outgoing under 150 per line per day, and incoming under 500.
